Breeders of Working German Shepherds Welcome to Heritage Acres Kennels. Providers of top quality working German Shepherds. We are a small family owned and operated breeding facility, specializing in Working K-9 Breeding, Training, & Importing Services. Our kennel is located in Carroll County about 20 minutes South of Canton, Ohio. Heritage Acres Kennels is owned by the Talkington family and nestled on ten acres. Our goals as breeders are to produce strong healthy working dogs with great drive, hardness, and sound temperament. Our females are of Czech heritage bloodlines and will produce various shades of Sables, Bi-Colors, and occasional Blacks. I am a 15 year veteran city police officer who in 2002 began my career as a K-9 handler. My first GSD was donated to the police K9 unit after passing the screening process for police service dogs. "Bam" had no previous training or experience as a working dog. In January 2002, Bam and I started a 14 week police K9 patrol class. As of August 2006, Bam has been retired and I am currently working the street with my new partner "Darko", a five year old sable German Shepherd. Because of my experience in the K9 unit, I understand the frustration of trying to replace your partner due to the lack of top quality working dogs in this area. With that and my love, respect, opportunity, and unique position of my partner being a dog, I began Heritage Acres Kennels
